Hidden away on a quiet freshwater lake 1 hr from Portland & 7 minutes to the charming village of Damariscotta, Blenheim Park's Tea House is a magical spot for a getaway. Two charming c1900 buildings set back 900ft from the road, literally hang on the water's edge offering a living room, kitchen, dining room, 2+ bedrooms & bathroom. Ideally suited for couples & solo travelers seeking peace and quiet, you'll enjoy exclusive use of a waterfront area, including kayaks, inflatable swans & your own private patio. The 16 acre estate offers over 1800 ft of private lakefront, 100ft of which is available to Tea House residents exclusively. There's a lovely sitting porch overhanging the water, and a sunny patio built IN the lake. Spend the week restaurant hopping, fishing* from the patio, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit, swimming, kayaking, sunbathing, cooking, reading and stargazing to your hearts content. The rental consists of both cottages. The Teahouse (the red one) is where you'll gather, cook, dine, lounge, play records and games and swim. The Boathouse (the white one) houses the bathroom and bedrooms. They are less than 100ft apart and both absolute waterfront. Fees listed are for two people. The Boathouse will accommodate up to four for $50 per extra person to booking. (*see note below regarding optionally adding our Carriage House into the rental to accommodate a total of six people per booking.) The owners are on premises a few hundred feet away and available if needed, but also adept at 'disappearing' during your stay. Guests enjoy a section of waterfront to themselves where the peace and beauty of this gorgeous location will refresh and renew your spirit in no time at all. COVID OPTIONS: For the 2020 / 2021 seasons we are limiting rentals to six nights only to allow our cleaning team to perform increased Covid-19 cleaning procedures and allow the cottages to air out a full 24hrs between guests. *Fishing requires local permit, easily obtained online. The Carriage house can be rented for an additional $150 per night (plus cleaning). It is only available as an add-on to the Teahouse/Boathouse reservation since you will share a bathroom and kitchen in the Teahouse/Boathouse. House (1575 sq. ft.) in Wiscasset, ME
0 miles from Damariscotta
69 Cushman Point is a fresh, contemporary 3-BR, 2 Bath house high on a heavily wooded hillside overlooking (and with frontage on) the Back River of the Sheepscot, which leads into Sheepscot Bay and eventually into the Atlantic Ocean. This property provides a feeling of isolation and complete privacy, and yet offers direct access (8 minutes drive) to Route 1 with all of the retail amenities one could ever require. The house offers three private bedrooms, two of which can compete to be called the "master" bedroom -- one up, one down, each with a queen sized bed and a glass door opening onto a deck overlooking the river. There is also a full bath on each floor. The third bedroom, which is upstairs, offers two twin beds and a sofa that opens into a full sized (double - 54") bed, so overall there are comfortable sleeping accommodations for 8 people, although the two people sharing the sofa bed would have to be very friendly. There is also a "Pack-N-Play" for a baby if needed (please bring your own linens for the baby.) Immediately surrounding the house itself are landscaped gardens reflecting the extraordinary diversity of plants and flowers that burst forth in Maine in late Spring as the days begin to lengthen. Follow the winding trail from the house down the hill and through the woods to a floating dock on the Back River of the Sheepscot. Look left (north) and you'll see in the distance the Route 1 bridge connecting Wiscasset with Edgecomb and the Boothbay Region. Look right (south) and you'll see the small bridge connecting the mainland with Westport Island, and beyond that bridge in the distance, Sheepscot Bay and eventually the Atlantic Ocean. Look overhead and you'll see cormorants, osprey, and occasionally eagles and red-tailed hawks, plying the river hunting for prey. Look down at the water and it will most likely be rushing with the tide either in or out, as the Sheepscot is one of the great tidal rivers of Maine. (For this reason, we don't recommend swimming off of the dock. As the river is deep and flows swiftly, and for most of the year is quite cold, we recommend that you swim instead at one of the state parks mentioned immediately below.) White, sandy beaches are rare in Maine, but there are two state parks (Reid and Popham Beach State Parks) that offer long stretches of them, both just a short drive from Wiscasset. Although Wiscasset itself is one of Maine's most beautiful and historic towns, there are many others within a short distance including Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb and Damariscotta across the aforementioned bridge to the northeast, and Bath, Brunswick, and Portland back down the coast to the southwest. Portland's Jetport (PWM) is the major regional airport serving the mid-coast area of Maine and is only one hour's drive from the property. Some of the best restaurants in Maine are within a half-hour's drive of 69 Cushman Point. There are many other shopping opportunities, with Maine pottery being one of the regional specialties. The towns of Edgecomb and Damariscotta are both homes to artisans who turn out some of the most beautiful hand-painted pottery in the world. Be careful - you may start with one piece and become a lifelong collector. A must-do day trip is to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, where you can wander for hours among breathtaking landscapes of trees, plants and flowers of every description and walk miles of trails through the woods and down to the river -- also called the Back River coincidentally, but the back branch of a different river than the Sheepscot. There is a lovely gift shop and excellent restaurant on the premises for lunch. Our goal is to make your stay at 69 Cushman Point as pleasant and comfortable as possible. You should need only to purchase the food and beverages you will need for your stay. All linens will be provided and will be collected for laundering after your stay. The kitchen is well appointed and fully equipped. The house is equipped with Wi-Fi and also satellite TV with 127 channels on a 48" HDTV. Should you have any emergency needs, you will have contact numbers for our caretaker and also for our tech support person, both of whom live nearby. We look forward to having you as our guests!

Come and relax at a real Maine hideaway! Property is very secluded at the end of a dirt road on 1.3 acres with 100 feet of frontage on Johnson Cove. Johnson Cove is tidal -- 2 high tides and 2 low tides each day. Large dock and attached float provide easy access for boating and swimming at high tide (eight- to ten-feet deep at high tide, and warmer than the open ocean) and fun clamming at low tide. Lawn area on 3 sides of the house. Built in 1993, this four-bedroom home has many amenities: contemporary furnishings, high speed wireless Internet, river-rock fireplace in the living room, wraparound deck on main living level, upper deck off the master bedroom, and a short walk to the town market, school playground, library and hardware store. Our calendar is updated regularly so please check that first. _________________________________________ The house has an open floor plan on the main floor with the kitchen, dining room and living room with fireplace all connected making it easy for groups to hang out together. Main floor includes: Kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace, den with TV and pullout couch, bedroom with full bed and full bathroom. Second floor includes: master bedroom with queen bed and access to upper deck, bedroom with queen bed, bedroom with 2 twin beds, full bathroom, access to the loft. Loft includes: 4 twin mattresses on the floor. NOTE: loft access is via a ladder through a trap door. Kids love it! You can see more details about this in the video posted on YouTube when you search for "Seachimes 61422". One thing to note about the video is that we have recently updated paint and carpet as well as we've replaced the bunk beds with 2 single beds in the 3rd upstairs bedroom but the video will give you a very good sense of the house layout. Basement includes: Laundry room, ping-pong table, foosball table, lawn games, water-based toys, life jackets, beach towels. ______________________________ The Tidal Experience: Many guests have asked about what it's like on a tidal cove. At high tide the water is more like a pond and will give you about 5-6 hours of swimming and boating as the water is 8-10 feet high. We've been known to jump off the dock and then climb up the ladder. At low tide, you can walk into the mud and even dig for some clams to have as an appetizer later. The time of the high tide changes throughout the year but there are websites where you can find the time for high and low tides. We also provide a tide calendar at the house. Personally, I find it very relaxing to sit on the dock to watch the water slowly leave or return to the cove every day. I am fairly sensitive to smells and can assure you that there is no fishy smell at low tide. If you do want to tromp around in the mud, I recommend rubber boots or swim shoes. ____________ Video Available: If you search on YouTube for 'Seachimes 61422' you will find a 3 minute video showcasing the property and the house. Please note that we have recently painted and replaced some carpets as well as replacing the bunk beds to two separate twin beds.

This fanciful, one-of-a kind home surfs the edge of the shore! Giant windows look out over wide open ocean to Monhegan Island and beyond. One of the most desirable spots on one of New Harbor/Pemaquid Point's most exclusive and private shorelines. Hidden away off a dirt road, verdant pine and sea-salt perfumed grounds overlook ocean bluffs (w/ ample lawn for kids to play catch!). Below, your own expansive wonderland of rocky ocean front boasts immense tidal pools, a freshwater stream, and flat ledges for sunning or seating your very own lobster cookout! Inside, 'Seachange' is open, light and airy with intriguing peaks and angles and two-story windows front and back. A magnificent rock fireplace opens to the living and dining/kitchen areas. A large screened porch (with a convenient pass-through window) is the perfect place to eat, read, and relax. Watch lobster boats pull in their traps, observe the copious wildlife that populates the shore and sea, and let the sounds of the surf lull you to sleep in the hammock. A winterized 'wing' of the house has separate bath, efficiency kitchen, work desk, and sleeping areas affording very private separation from main house. The living room offers expansive, 180-degree ocean views from seating around the coffee table---perfect for a cocktail-hour gathering, and equally inviting for an afternoon siesta or snuggling by the fire with a book. The open kitchen and dining room look out over a fresh-water stream that babbles through the pine forest just behind the house. The dining table expands to seat 10. A pass-through window from the dining/kitchen area to the screened porch is handy for serving blueberry pancake breakfasts. On the porch you can enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the lobster boats bring in their haul. A 'prow'-like sun deck opens off the screened porch and juts out over the shoreline. Climb winding stairs to a master bedroom with queen bed that affords a crow's nest view from Yellowhead to the Seal Ledges and out to Monhegan Island. Write postcards (or, okay, check your email) at the built-in desk area. Behind the master bedroom is a lovely, shady bedroom (two twin beds) overlooking treetops and the freshwater creek. Tucked under the eaves is a snug bathroom with tub/shower and skylight. The attached apartment wing (with a separate outdoor entrance but also accessible to the interior of the main house) houses a sleeping area with twin beds and a sitting area with a full-sized sleeper sofa, separated by a stone chimney with wood stove. It also features a built-in desk area, bath with shower, washer and dryer, kitchenette with sink, full-sized refrigerator, microwave oven, and toaster oven. This private retreat is perfect for guests, a couple wishing extra privacy, or those with restricted mobility. The house has a furnace to take the chill off early spring and fall mornings… and the 'small change' apartment is 'winterized' with a wood stove and electric heaters. AMENITIES: Seachange has a fully equipped main kitchen (open to dining and living room) plus a separate bar/prep kitchen with 2nd refrigerator and sink in attached wing. Washer and dryer, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffeemaker, three telephones, fans (including ceiling fan), cable TV/VCR, WIFI internet, CD/tape player, portable dehumidifier, charcoal grill, lobster cookout equipment. ACTIVITIES: There's plenty to do at Seachange. You can explore the coastal tide pools, birdwatch, sunbathe on the rock ledges, play catch on the lawn, or fish right off the docks or walk down to nearby picturesque Back Cove, or bike the adjacent roads and trails. Or, you can simply relax on the porch, and appreciate the sounds and sights of the ocean. AREA: The New Harbor/Pemaquid area offers great hiking, sea kayaking, boating, boat cruises, antiquing, historic sites (Fort William Henry, Colonial Pemaquid Restoration in immediate area) and many fine restaurants. Public golf course nearby. Pemaquid Lighthouse Park and Pemaquid Beach (sand) are located within a short drive or bike ride. Short drives to Damariscotta, South Bristol, Round Pound and Christmas Cove. Day trips to Monhegan Island out of New Harbor.

We’re still trying to adjust to life in South Florida again, but we keep dreaming of Maine and all its wonders. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and had a terrific time at the lake. We swam, fished, canoed, and picked wild blueberries and raspberries down at the edge of the water. In the evenings we would sit by the fire, roast marshmallows and then step outside to watch the night sky filled with thousands of stars. Though we’ve stayed in other houses in Maine, your house is in a wonderful location and so comfortable. Our favorite activity is to pack a lunch and to go sit on the rock ledge by the lake where we picnic, swim, canoe, and fish. Afterwards we finish our day with a scoop of ice cream at Round Pond. We also explored the different peninsulas, ate lobster rolls (repeatedly), and enjoyed every second of the cool weather. Damariscotta is a lovely little town as are so many in the surrounding area.
